Our Mission
Karimi was brought forth around 2018 as just an idea and flourished into a full blown, booked out business shortly after its debut in 2019. It was created to bring expert, personalized care in eyebrow tattoos to the people surrounding the DC Metropolitan area as there was a huge demand for an artist that can provide a natural look for the everyday person. Our goal is to enhance the God-given beauty of anyone that sits in a Karimi chair and bring a glimmer of confidence, hope, and feeling of sisterhood/family through a simple eyebrow tattoo appointment. We serve men, women, LGBTQ+, and anyone who feels like eyebrows is the missing link in being the person they always envisioned themselves to be. Although we started in the DMV, we have clients who come as far as internationally and every corner of the US.
Our Team
Fatana karimi
Meet Fatana, the artist and owner at Karimi Permanent Makeup. Fatana was always a creative in her early years. As an aspiring makeup artist, Fatana worked to pursue celebrity makeup artistry. In doing so, she briefly worked with Derrick Rutledge. Fatana realized makeup didn’t fulfill her dreams like it did others, so she looked into other areas of the beauty industry. That’s when she found microblading. Fatana studied and received her license in Permanent Makeup from the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR) in 2019. Soon after she received her license, she attended the BrowDaddy masterclass for machine techniques for eyebrows. In 2020, she continued her education by attending an advanced course for digital hairstrokes in Seattle by Noi from Seattle3DBrows. In 2021 she’s taken an online Nano Course with Hoi Tattoo, Correction and Camoflauge with SevenInkBeauty and Powder Brows with UniqueMicroblading in California. Since beginning her career in Permanent Makeup, she has changed the lives of over a thousand people with her expertise in eyebrow techniques.
Marklaine chery
Meet Marklaine, the office manager at Karimi. Marklaine works remotely through maintaining customer care and working alongside Fatana to handle her schedule and the back end of the business. Marklaine has her Bachelor of Science from Stratford University and is finishing up her Nursing degree as well. She loves to enjoy her time at home with a good TV show or hanging out with some friends in her free time.
Our logo
Our Logo has a beautiful story to how it became and we want to share that story with you; true to her character, Karimi favors the bold and ambiguous. The mark evolved from the Goddess of Magic: Hekate. Snakes are among her iconography and legends depict her as an elegant, seductive, woman who holds the key to unlocking many realms. Which is what we believe we do with our Art of Eyebrows, unlocking realms in your own life you didn’t think were possible with a simple eyebrow tattoo appointment.
